What are the refractory bricks for electric furnace walls?
According to the parts of the furnace wall of the electric furnace:
1. The main furnace wall adopts direct-bonded magnesia-chrome bricks, pre-reacted magnesia-chrome bricks, and magnesia bricks;
2. The slag line adopts oil-impregnated magnesia bricks, direct-bonded magnesia-chrome bricks, cast magnesia-chrome bricks, magnesia-carbon bricks.
3. Refractory bricks are used for hot spots and the same as the slag line.
Directly bonded magnesia-chrome bricks are refractory materials manufactured by special processes such as high-grade magnesia, chrome concentrate, and increased firing temperature. This product has good high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance. It is a refractory brick used for the main furnace wall of electric furnaces, and can also be used for slag lines and hot spots;
Fused and cast magnesia-chrome bricks, adding a certain amount of additives with magnesia and chrome ore, mixed, compacted and bisque fired, broken into blocks, melted in an electric arc furnace, and then injected into the mold for annealing to produce mother bricks; mother bricks are cut by cutting , grinding and other processing to make the required type of fused brick. This product has good resistance to melt corrosion, penetration and erosion, and can be used in electric furnace slag lines:
Magnesia-carbon bricks are made of high-melting alkaline oxide magnesia (melting point 2800°C) and high-melting carbon materials that are difficult to be infiltrated by slag as raw materials, and various non-oxide additives are added. Carbon-free composite refractory material combined with carbon binder. It can be used for the lining of converters, AC electric arc furnaces, DC electric arc furnaces, and the slag line of ladle.
What are the technical measures to improve the life of refractory bricks of electric furnace wall?
1. Large crystal magnesia: high purity, low SiO2, B2O3, high CaO/SiO2, grain size greater than 150pm;
2. High-purity graphite: type, particle size distribution, purity;
3. Additives: Al, Si, Mg, alloys, borides (ZrB2, CaB2, Mg2B3), B4C;
4. Vacuum oil immersion: it can close the pores and improve the corrosion resistance;
5. Binder: phenolic resin (50~60% higher residual carbon content), asphalt, asphalt-resin composite;
