What are the classification and properties of zirconium corundum bricks for glass kilns?

The glass kiln is a thermal equipment for producing glass, and it has high requirements on the use of refractory materials. Zirconium corundum bricks are refractory products suitable for glass kilns. The following introduces several zirconium corundum bricks suitable for glass kilns and related properties.

Al2O3-Zr02-Si02 series (AZS for short), the main products of this series are zircon corundum bricks and zirconium mullite bricks. In the melting part and working part of the glass tank kiln, when it is in contact with the glass liquid, the refractory material is required to be resistant to erosion, and the zirconium corundum brick has this characteristic and is the preferred material. Zirconium corundum bricks are divided into two categories: sintered zirconium corundum bricks and fused recombined zirconium corundum bricks. There is a big difference between the two.

On the one hand, in terms of raw materials and production process, sintered AZS bricks are products made of zircon and alumina as the main raw materials and pre-synthesized materials as aggregates. At the same time, measures such as adjusting the critical particle size composition, adding a composite binder and a small amount of TiO2, Mgo to assist sintering and strengthening sintering are adopted to achieve the purpose of dense sintering.

The fused and re-bonded AZS brick is made of fused and cast AZS clinker, scrap and recycled brick as raw materials, and a small amount of kaolin or alumina is added as a binder. When heated to a high temperature, the peritectic reaction of the glass phase and the crystal phase in the fused AZS aggregate will also form mullite. At this time, the mullite and ZrO2 are in the form of encapsulation and encapsulation, which is helpful for different particle sizes. The sintering of fused cast AZS particles and the use of the "self-sintering property" of fused cast AZS aggregates are the basic principles of producing recombined AZS bricks.

On the other hand, from the perspective of microstructure, the microstructure of sintered AZS bricks is mainly characterized by the uniform distribution of fine baddeleyite zircon between the main crystal phase mullite and corundum.

The fiber structure changes of AZS bricks fired at high temperature and fused together are mainly: 1. The coarse-grained glass phase exudes to the surface of the particles and reacts with Al2O3, forming a mullite shell to close the exudation channel, so that the peritectic reaction proceeds inside the particles: 2. The glass phase of molten cast AZS powder reacts with active Al2O3, and the matrix is mullite. The microstructure of the re-bonded AZS bricks has the structural characteristics of the dense combination of mullite and corundum baddeleyite eutectic.
